Mount Crocker Treescape

Mount Crocker Treescape

Sugarloaf Ski Resort may not be the tallest mountain, but it is definitely one of the coldest in the Northeast. Many years the permafrost hits by mid October and doesn't leave till well into April the coming spring. Howling winds keep the summit landscape stunted, but this affords spectacular views across miles of woodlands to high points such as the Bigelow Preserve and Mount Crocker (seen above).
